The Spring Crossroads Christian School high school production will be Argonuts:  Jason & the Quest for the Golden Fleece by Scott Lynch-Giddings (a Samuel French play). An excerpt can be found at http://www.samuelfrench.com/p/9126/argonuts-jason-the-quest-for-the-golden-fleece-a-comedy-of-tragic-proportions and click on the “read free sample”.

It is “a creative, innovative, and truly hilarious version of the ancient Greek myth of Jason and his heroic quest for the Golden Fleece.”  “The story is loosely based on the epic poem “Argonautika” composed by Apollonius of Rhodes in the 3rd Century BCE.”

Come any time during the audition times.  The longer you stay at auditions, the more chances you'll have to show Wendy what you can do.  Come prepared with a monologue, poem, or speech, about one minute in length.   Be prepared to read from the script.  Be familiar with how to say the names of the characters.  Please have your audition form filled out when you come to auditions, if you can.  If not, we will have blank forms available there.

A link to the character descriptions, as well as the audition form is in this article.

Call backs will be Thurs. Dec 11 at 1pm, so make sure you are available to come back then, if necessary.  Most rehearsals for the whole cast will be Fridays at Crossroads from 2:45 to 4 pm  in the sanctuary:  January 9, 16, 23, and 30; February 6, 13, and 20. Tech week for the performance is Monday through Wednesday, February 23-25 at ACTA theater in Trussville at 1pm, unless we have to change that for some reason, and is mandatory for all actors and crew. Only extreme emergencies will be excused.  Performances will be at ACTA theater in Trussville.

In addition to acting roles, Wendy will need the following positions filled:

Stage Manager - will be at each rehearsal taking notes and in charge of play during performances - needs to be good at managing others and taking care of various responsibilities with a great attitude.  This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to be in management one day.  If you can stage manage, you can do anything!

Props manager - this person would be in charge of any and all props during tech week and performances - needs to be organized and a bit ocd

Artist - I will need a LARGE snake puppet and other scenery - you need to be available on weekends and definitely during tech week

Special effects person - I have several sound effects I need to gather for this show. There is also a photography session and power point.  - this person needs to be tech savvy - be available for tech week and outside rehearsal time for photo shoot - needs a camera, computer, Powerpoint, Photoshop (be able to put fake backgrounds on pictures) - this person will also be needed during performances

Stagehands – 2-3 students to move scenery, work curtains, and be in charge backstage - need to be available tech week and performances.
